I'm just this guy... y'know? :)
You may have noticed a new category has popped up called ‘Reminiscence’. I figured I spend a lot of time rambling about my past so if anyone would want to read anything so personal, then all they need to do is click. Of course… right now there’s just the one post in there… but hey. … More Categories.
Was just chatting to a friend about ‘the old days’ of computing. The wife and I got our first machine back in 1984.. an Acorn Electron… basically a cut down version of the BBC ‘B’ sold in attempt to cash in on the market created by the Beeb’s success. Didn’t work of course. They missed … More Joyce – the Amstrad PCW 8256
My birthday is on October 27th when I shall… should I live that long under the ongoing pressure of this stressful life I lead… reach the somewhat mature age of 60. Now this is already twice the age an old gypsy fortune teller told me I’d live to so I’ll not complain (much) if/when I … More My Birthday wishes.
The wreck was returned this morning and replaced by another wreck… a more or less working Subaru Liberty this time. To be fair, apart from the sheer ‘basicness’ of the interior… and a radio/cassette player out of the ark… it isn’t too bad… all things considered. At least it’s warm and dry! 🙂 Of course, … More And on and on and on
I was writing something to the wife about a trainee solicitor we knew. Apparently she’s left the firm but we have no idea where she’s gone. Trouble is, as is well documented, I have a very odd little mind. One of its oddities is an inability to remember faces out of context. A prime example … More Who are you again??

Well… though it’s been dry for weeks… last night (and today ongoing…) it rained. I think the jinx is letting me know it’s there… watching 😀 It lives … More The jinx moves along
For anyone interested, I added the site to Feedburner. The URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/ OpinionAustralia Feedburner has been ‘acquired’ by Google and I like currently like Google… tho I need to add my ad bar in. Hmm… I wonder how I do that exactly? EDIT: The Feedburner plugin needs configuring… will do that tomorrow… right now … More Feedburner
Well ok this was the local equivalent of rent-a-wreck but the cars aren’t a lot cheaper. I rang around a couple of car hire companies and discovered they had nothing available… a long weekend is in the offing, (Queens Birthday I think?) and people want to go away. Eventually I got a couple of quotes … More Rent a Wreck Rules!
So I rang Chrysler ‘Customer Care’ on their Toll Free number (1800-814-440) and told them the Voyager had broken down again and that bearing in mind it had only been ‘repaired’ a week ago I was less than happy. Naturally there is nothing they can do to help other than try to get it fixed … More Chrysler Customer Care
The week started off so well too. The oldies were home in the UK, I’d recovered my bag with all it’s necessities, and I’d started clearing up and rearranging the furniture in the house. I was even feeling more or less ok. Yesterday it all went wrong when the jinx yet again reared its ugly … More One of those weeks
