I'm just this guy... y'know? :)
My memory is getting worse as time goes by. I find I get so engrossed in some project or other that I forget or ignore all else… regardless of whether the other projects are completed or not! One such project was getting the daughters holiday photos to her. She’d copied them to a DVD but … More Like sand through a sieve.
Hot on the heels of my ‘success’ with the Mini DV tapes, I was about to embark on a more ambitious project, namely to transfer all the even *older* tapes we have in Mini VHS format. Some of these go back to our earliest days in Australia so should hold exciting memories for us to … More Yet *more* on video tapes!
We’ve had one or two nice days to remind us of what Australian weather is supposed to be but again a change has brought more rain. The temperatures are nothing to write home about either with 4ºC showing on the cars thermometer yesterday morning. True the cloud cover has resulted in the chill being taken … More Raining again.
A journey of one thousand miles… begins with the first step. After years of owning our video recorder I’ve only now started transferring the accumulated tapes onto the computer. I’ve found clips of a wide variety of interesting occasions ranging from the usual holiday scenes to the children performing in choirs or music recitals. A day or so ago I was saying the new ice skating site was ‘up’ but required a lot of work before it was really ‘ready’ for mass use. One of the things we needed really badly was a logo and ‘unified theme’ and my graphics skills are tragic to say the least. So in … More Charity is twice blessed.
We’re off to the eldest daughters school tonight. She has a bit part in the chorus of the school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The ensemble performed for the Junior School yesterday morning and gave the first of their two performances ‘to the public’ last night. The wife said she heard someone … More Jojo was a man who might have been a pharaoh…
A few days ago I posted a link to a ‘charity page’ run by realestate.com which promised to donate $1 for every time someone ‘unique’ clicked on the site. The target was $100,000 and I’m pleased to say the target was reached this morning. Well done and thanks to all who managed to find the … More Houses for the Homeless
The new Australian Ice Skating site is coming along slowly but surely. Basic information is up there… well information about why the site is there at least… and so is the forum! How many members? Well just *me* currently… but this is a specialist site so the numbers will take a long time to grow … More New site on its way.
