Another day dawns… or did several hours ago. The chaos yesterday is forgotten… except that everyone in NSW has to continually check whatever clocks they use in case they are computer controlled and think Daylight Saving has ended. Here it ends next week, but nobody told the computers! 🙂
Anyway, I digress as usual. Was officially up at 4:45 a.m. to take the youngest to her practice session at the ice-rink but in fact I was out of bed at 3:00 a.m. having spent an hour or more lying awake! No idea why… just couldn’t sleep. Now of course I feel a little like I imagine a wrung out cloth might feel if it had feelings… oh dear what am I on about. 😦
Err… ok. I’m off to the eldest daughters school in a few minutes. She forgot her music books and I said I’d take them up… must be genetic, I forget everything! In my case it might just be a result of being tired and hungry, but I don’t think so. I think that’s my brain telling me to find an excuse to go and eat! Which I think is the cue for me to leave soon!:)
So, from the school… tho exhausted and still in pain… I’ll be off to the gym *again* for another hour of self-inflicted torture. As said before, I have no idea whether my old bones will take an hour a day pounding along on a treadmill, but there’s only one way to find out!
From there… it’ll be off to yet another session at an ice-rink where the youngest will be having an actual lesson! What’s even more exciting, is that she is asking if she can go on Wednesday mornings as well for *more* practice! Assuming we agree… and I can manage to keep this up… she’ll be skating up somewhere near 16 hours a week!! Sounds like a lot for an 8 year old… but she seems keen and I figure if she’s willing to make the effort we ought to encourage her. I *can* see the time coming when she’ll be wanting to go to *every* morning session… 6 days a week. Whether I’m willing to keep up with *that* amount of dedication I can’t say right now. I’m not getting any younger… and these ice-rinks are getting no warmer!! 😀
We live in interesting times.
