Cheap thrills!

As mentioned a few days ago I was in Sydney with the eldest daughter for her flute exam. What I *forgot* to mention was that on the way back to meet the wife for lunch… I passed an OpShop… a St. Vinnies one I think. I can’t resist an OpShop ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I wandered straight up to the counter and asked if they had any LP’s… the old vinyl sort. They dug out 10 for me at $1 each whichย  thought was a bargain. There was a bit of variety there and though mostly classical, the selection included Valotte by Julian Lennon with “Too late for goodbyes” on it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve not played that yet… currently I’m listening to a couple of Mozart’s horn concertos and will be following it up with Albinoni’s Adagio, a Vivaldi flute concerto, Pachelbel’s Canon… and of course even more Mozart ๐Ÿ™‚

The Beethoven 7th Symphony can wait awhile, it’s a little heavy, but there’s some Bach in the collection as well. The Brandenburg Concertos are just amazing. Both of those are, for me, music best enjoyed in the evening when I have a few minutes to sit back and just let it wash over and through me. Something to look forward to later on perhaps?

Still… all this genius for $10… what a bargain!!
