Despite still being desperately tired as we recover from the last few months today is set to be yet another long day. Up at 5:00 a.m. as usual… tho it was closer to 5:20 a.m. before we actually dragged our sorry carcases out of our kip to face the bright new day. Actually it was still dark so maybe that should read ‘a dark, bleak morning’? Either way up we got and out we went.
The rellies seem to have moved on finally. At least their camper was no longer parked at the railway station as it was yesterday morning when we arrived to send the wife off to work. I hope they’ve decided to move off on their holiday at last, We wish them well… and wish things had gone better.
This arvo the kids have ‘activities’ to go to but after I pick them up at around 4:30 p.m. we have to organise ourselves to get to the Guide Hut. Today is the AGM and it seems I’m Vice President of the Parents Support Group and have been told I’m to give a review of the years activities.
Ok sounds easy enough… and probably would be if I had any idea what’s been going on! 🙂 I’ve not been to any of the meetings nor can I recall what the Support Group did! The district leader sent me some coverage… and an agenda (which is useful) but there is still no clear idea of what I’m supposed to do exactly! No doubt we’ll muddle through somehow.
As if this wasn’t enough… it seems I’m to run the barbecue as well! To be honest I can think of a hundred different things I’d rather do that give speeches… and running the barbie means I can’t sneak off home early and get to bed which is what my real preference would be.
It’s going to be a long day.
