Starvation works!

Well now, who’d a thunk it? Starvation reduces weight. Seeing how the people in Gaza are suffering under constant lack of food because of the Israeli invasion. The Israeli refusal to allow sufficient food into the area… let alone the disgusting bombing of a *relief* convoy is a war crime and the lack of military support for the Palestinians is an international disgrace.

For the population of the Gaza Strip it means death from bombing or death by starvation. Neither are pleasant and the end result is the same, so starving to death shouldn’t come as a surprise.

I, of course, am doing it voluntarily, and am not under threat of death trying to feed my kids or family, so it’s a lot less of a worthy cause, well none really. Continuing this depressing theme, around 15,000 children have died since the invasion started, most from the attacks, but also from sheer hunger. It’s all so wrong.

Anyway, to a lighter topic, literally, my weight dropped to 125.80 kilos, mainly because I’ve been eating far less than my usual diet. In the past, when I felt under intense stress, I tended to gravitate to the nearest food source and stuff my face with whatever I could find. Lately, though, I find the opposite. When I feel I’m stressed, I stop eating altogether. Good for the diet, but not at all for my health. Actually I *did* I had a meal yesterday, Chicken Kyiv (slight name change due to Ukranian/Russian war) and ‘tater tots’. Stupidly I ate the ‘tots’ first (and too quickly), so had no room for the protein portion of the meal… the chicken.

What was worse was that the ‘tots’ ‘bounced so I threw most of it back up. I suppose after a day or two without food my stomach rebelled and decided to teach a lesson. 😦

Today I should be eating a breakfast my daughter made for me, yoghurt, muesli and fruit, but I still can’t eat properly. I can’t have it for lunch either because I’m off to see the diet people at the CoC, and then to the GP. I’ll probably eat it for dinner instead. Looks tasty though!! 🙂

So life moves on somehow and the weight loss continues. At my current weight I can see the finish line in the distance… still at least 25 kilos to go, but I *have* lost more than half my start weight of roughly 162 calories at my heaviest
