Studies indicate that there is a real link between reduced testosterone levels, sleep apnoea and obesity! There’s a study about to start in Sydney to test the theory out. I’m considering calling in to volunteer.
There are a few issues to consider. Firstly and most importantly whether there is an increased risk of prostate cancer for those on the study and if so does it outweigh the risks of heart attack or stroke that accompany the obesity and sleep deprivation. Secondly… whether I’ll be able to summon up the energy to call them
Actually I was pressuring my GP a while back for testosterone injections. I tried it for a year or two and they **really** worked wonders for me. For some reason… no idea why… we stopped them just as I was supposed to be getting an injection that would last a year to remove the three monthly cycle of rising well-being leading to feeling great… then dropping back to depression as the injections wore off.
If I can manage it I’ll ring. I might not get on the study but I figure I owe it to myself to try. I wonder whether quality of life over rules quantity?? I suppose that’s a discussion to have with the wife.
Edit:
I called… I left my details… if they ring back… I’ll write more!
