No not mispelled… it’s what I think would be the best name for the suburban transport system near us.

Times of the buses are pretty crap to begin with… probably because next to nobody wants to use them… but they took a further nosedive this week with the introduction of the new timetables for ‘Busways’ the local bus company.

The wife now catches the bus on the 147x route… but for reasons best known to themselves… because nobody was told what those reasons were… they changed the early morning bus route to miss out virtually the entire estate we live on!!

This wasn’t done to save time or distance because the bus the wife caught this morning was waiting at the end of the street with the engine running for at least 15 minutes while we waited at the stop, before turning around and picking her up. In terms of distance it saves maybe a half kilometre or so… nothing for a bus but a long way for someone to walk at 6:00 a.m. esp on the odd occasion it rains.

There aren’t a huge number of people to be collected on the way around… maybe a half dozen… but the point is that it is inconveniencing the public for no real gain.

I think it’s time to contact Stephen Pringle, the local MP… there’s an election coming up… maybe he’ll do something!
