Me and my Toshiba

The machine I’ve been using lately is my Toshiba Satellite 5200. I’ve had this thing three years now… actually I bought it with the income from the ODPS book… cost an arm and a leg but has given good value all in all. It has a few design flaws… the DVD burner has died three times in part because the chip burns so hot it damages the mechanism… but it’s been a good machine.

The only problem it has is a crappy fan which has taken to making loud whirring noises only stopping when I smack it! Bit like the kids really… πŸ™‚

Anyway… because of the noise I was wondering if it’s time to think of getting a new one… but what’s the point? Apart from the irritating noise the fan does everything I want it to. It’s still fast, and does all I need. On balance I think maybe if a new machine is wanted then a desktop would still be the first choice. If nothing else you get a better spec for your buck.

Sadly… my main desktop is also more than adequate for my current needs so even *that* is out the door… it just needs formatting.

So what’s the point of this post? Nothing really… just rambling πŸ˜€

  1. Tee hee … twice you refer to the “nose” from your computer … does it stink that much?

And then I come into this dialogue box to see above it “Activate Spell Check while Typing” … isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

  2. Sorry ’bout that. The spell checker didn’t install properly. I thought I’d uninstalled it but realise I didn’t.

Still… at leaset now I know there are mistakes to fix! πŸ˜€
