Kids off to camp!

Kids are off to camp this weekend with the Girl Guides… no idea where Brownsea Island is but we’re told it’s out of range of mobile phones… so we won’t be getting frantic calls for assistance from the daughter 🙂 What we’re going to do with ourselves tomorrow I don’t know… but I bet it’ll … More Kids off to camp!

And for afters…

While I was in the mood yesterday I also knocked up a rhubarb and apple crumble. Or started to. As per usual nothing went right and when I went to sort out the crumble mix after stewing the rhubarb and chopping the apples… I discovered I’d run out of butter!! By the time I’d gone … More And for afters…

Steak and yukky.

I decided I’d make a nice steak and kidney pudding. Not made one in years but thought it might be nice for a change. I’d bought the gear a few days ago so got into making it yesterday morning. All was going well until I opened the sealed packs of kidney… and discovered the use-by … More Steak and yukky.

Back on my feet again

After two days off I was out again this morning walking round the estate 🙂 Damn hard to get back into it when I’d rather be doing anything but… but I went anyway. The dogs seemed to enjoy themselves… other than both of them now lying flat out gasping for breath.

Geez my legs hurt!

Despite my exertions yesterday… and today for that matter… my legs seems to have suddenly woken up to the fact I’ve been over stretching them and started to cause me grief! 🙂 My calves have tightened up and are making me wince with every step. Ok I suppose this means that they’ll be that much … More Geez my legs hurt!

Our Bridge – 4

We were a bit miffed about not getting a free hat. We’d booked, arrived at the right time… but were disappointed. We discovered that thousands of people *hadn’t* pre-booked and had just ‘arrived’ yet they were all given a hat without any check made about who should or shouldn’t be on the bridge and/or get … More Our Bridge – 4

Our Bridge – 3

Darling Harbour is a jewel. It’s a hub of avtyivities and a gateway to a huge number of destinations in the immediate vicinity. These range from a casino to a tranquil ‘chinese’ garden in which you’d swear you were a hundred miles from a city. There is the Powerhouse Museum, the Entertainment centre, hotels, private … More Our Bridge – 3

Our Bridge – 2

By the time we were finished the kids were ready as well… and hungry… so we moved on to the monorail and bought a ‘family pass’ so we could get on and off as often as we wanted. Usually we’d not bother as it doesn’t go anywhere interesting but this time it actually went where … More Our Bridge – 2
