A day late!

Well, the weight did finally drop, albeit a day later than I’d suggested. The main reason for this was managing to control myself and not eat as much… obviously. It dawned on me that my lovely daughter, who does her best to look after me and kindly make lunches and dinners for me, unconsciously gives me larger quantities to eat than I should be having. At most, I should be having a half cup of food but it looks like nothing on the plate so although she gives me much less than her own plate, it’s still more than I should be having.

Part of the problem, such as it is, is that she always makes really tasty meals, and my psychology being what it is, I eat whatever I’m given, even tho I’m really not hungry as such. In part, this is a result of my mother repeatedly telling me to “finish my plate” before I could leave the table. But it’s also because I just *like* food… and when I’m presented with a nice meal I want to eat what I’m given.

Apart from not losing the weight as fast, the real danger is stretching my stomach prematurely and encouraging the regrowth of the ‘hunger hormone thus undermining the whole point of the surgery!

Things will change slightly over the next several weeks as the 2023 Christmas and New Year holidays are over and it’s back to work for everyone, including the daughter. It’s a bit sad that I’ll have to go back to looking after my own meals, because as I said she makes really nice food and, of course, I’m bone idle so I’ll have to look after myself regards food… so probably won’t. Actually, that’s silly of course. I’ll probably just go back to eating tuna on Cruskits with a cup of tea, or maybe finally use up some of the UltraSlim soups etc.

Anyway, the important thing is that my weight dropped by a half kilo so it seems I’m back on track.
