Catch up.

Clearly, there have been a few issues over the past week. The main one of course was a sudden and serious inability to breathe properly with accompanying pains in the centre of my chest. Usually, I’ll whinge about pains etc but do nothing about them, but this time it felt serious enough that I take some sort of action. My daughter was getting ready for work so I called her and asked her for a lift to the hospital. She got ready quickly and we zoomed off to Hawkesbury Hospital which was the nearest to access in the morning because of the rush hour traffic (even at 6:30 a.m.).

When we got there the first assumption was a heart attack, major or minor. Afte rsome discussion and exploration, I was stuck in an Ambulance and send post haste, sirens blaring, lights flashing down to Nepean Hospital. I passed out along the way but recovered just after getting into the Ambulance bay.

Lots of assessmentst and blood tests weredone and I was sipped up to the Cardio ward.

More investigations including an Angiogram and a CT/PA scan which resulted thankfuly… I think… in them deciding I had a Pulmonary Embolism, i.e. blood clot somewhere on the lung. Off we go into some powerful blood thinner and anticoagulant called Eliquis. Side effects incude a ridiculus amount of bleeding and bruising at the slightest knock or scratch. Two days later, I’m sent home and told I must take the Eliquis for 6 months. Oh joy.

I’m still losing weight but I feel like utter crap. I have no energym it still hurts to breathe and cough (which I do at any time for no obvious cause) and it seems I just have to put up with it until it goes away.

So back to the weight loss. I’m now 137.0 kilos so I’ve lost just over 10 kilos since the surgery. Quite comfortable with that loss, If it keeps up I’ll be at the first real “stage” (130 kilos) by Christmas
