I confess to being a little confused about my current weight loss journey. I sort of assumed I was going to see a greater loss than I have experienced so far. Over the last week, I’ve actually lost 3 kilos, which is really good. On the other hand, over the last 3 *days*, I’ve only lost 500 grams. Does this mean I’ve ‘stalled’ or that my body is retaining, water or my bowels still aren’t working properly? Not sure what’s happening but I know that regardless of what it is, following the surgery, I literally have no choice but to keep it up if I want to stay alive!
As I’ve said before, I’ve been so overweight that even no gain equals a ‘loss’ to me! And even 600 grams a week would be okay, even tho it extends by a long way the time it will take to lose the excess.
Still, moving along, I’ve decided to try out a few of the recipes in the Bariatric Diet book I bought. Some look really nice. I’ll start with the blueberry smoothie and see how it goes. On a theme, my daughter made me a Strawberry and Chocolate Whey powder shake which contains 40 grams of protein… and is bloody gorgeous. It’s around 300 calories so is a good meal, bearing in mind also I had no breakfast today, I keep forgetting I need to eat! 😀
I can’t dictate how my body will work, or how much weight I’ll lose, or at what rate. I just have to plod along and hope for the best.
