Yesterday, I managed to last out the day with just three shakes, 2 litres of dilute cordial, and a cup of tea. The result? Well, I can report that I lost a truly massive 0.1 kilos. This is ridiculous Surely I should have dropped more than that?? It’s really disheartening, but I’ll carry on for the next three days of course and hope for the best, even so… well… it seems unfair somehow 🙂
Actually, I say “three days” but, in fact, it’s only two and a half because I’ll only be able to have one shake in the morning and then take the disgusting Pico-Prep to empty my stomach and intestines before the surgery the next day. It’s getting close. Basically, I think I’ve done my dash (to use an Australianism) and I’ve lost as much as I’m going to pre-surgery.
Today I’ll have to start collecting what I’ll be taking to the hospital with me, e.g. clothes, toiletries etc. I won’t need much as I should only be there for two days, but still… you never know.
My nerves are beginning to frazzle, not least because it concerns me that if I’m not losing weight on three shakes a day and nothing else, how will I lose weight after the operation? The only way to find out is to do it… but it’s a scary thought.
Edit: I have got as far as lunchtime and I’m *seriously* hungry! I’m struggling onwards but how other people do this I don’t know. If I’d tried to do this 100% properly for the past few weeks I’d probably have lost more weight but at the real risk of starving! I may be forced to have a couple of carrots later, but for now, I’m considering having a meal replacement *bar* instead of a shake, to put something solid in my stomach. It’s really making me concerned about how I’ll cope after the surgery!
