This is silly. I ate far less yesterday, tho drank more. I assumed I’d lose most of the moisture overnight and my weight would show a real drop. It didn’t. When I weighed it came in at 150.6 kilos… an increase of 0.5k. To say this was annoying is to put it mildly. I figured it needed more investigating so went off to get help.
I found my way over to the Circle of Care and discussed with Mandy (the dietician) who weighed me and said that Dr Roy (the surgeon) thought all was still well as long as my weight didn’t start to creep back up towards my weight when I started this journey. I would be *very* alarmed if that was happening but there doesn’t seem to be any sign of that. anyway, it meant I didn’t need a blood test after all so that’s good.
While I was there I bought a book from them called “Your Complete Guide to Nutrition for Weight Loss Surgery” by Sally Johnston. It looks like a good read and has many really nice recipes I can follow both before and after surgery to help with weight loss and ensure I can still meet the nutritional needs after my stomach is reduced in size. The book cost me $40 for a hardback version whereas it’s $44 for the paperback version at Amazon.
Food today was much the same as ever. I had a shake for breakfast and a chicken wrap for lunch. I’ll have a shake and/or diet soup for my evening meal (trying to avoid anything excessive) and drink a lot more water. And with that, it’s back to the battle. I have no idea whether I can do anything serious about my weight over the next 10 days but it seems the best I can do is try to maintain my weight because it looks like losing any more before surgery will just not be happening!! 😦
