Yesterday was mostly lost in a haze of pain and discomfort. My daughter was trying to work but the noise I was making squealing each time I tried to cough motivated her to go get me some Robitusson for a dry cough. By then every muscle in my abdomen had reacted to the pain by seizing up and every time I moved it was like a thousand pins being shoved into my abdominal muscles at once. Can’t say I liked it much… ok, not at all to be honest.
At least after a dose of the medicine, the pain eased a little and I was able to grab an hour’s sleep which was a great relief! My GP eventually rang in the afternoon and after reminding me I was in a ‘high risk’ group prescribed anti-viral medication, which my long-suffering daughter dutifully went out to get.
Overall, just before I went to sleep, I’d taken the cough medicine, the anti-viral, two night-time Codral, a Nurofen Melt and a Panadol Osteo. Not sure which made the greatest impression but I’m surprised I didn’t poison myself! Anyway, I had a few hours sleep, so that was a positive.
I still weigh the same, I still feel like crap, and I’ll be really pleased if, and when, this finally leaves me in peace. In the meantime I’m sitting around perspiring profusely with a bottle of water in hand wondering if I can be bothered getting something to eat… or more importantly, if it’s safe for me to walk anywhere to get something as I am *very* unsteady right now. Maybe I’ll just wait. And as I typed that… my lovely daughter came home with lunch for me. Fabulous or what??
