Just for laughs, fate decided yesterday would be a great time for me to come down with COVID-19. I thought it was a really bad cold initially so was going to ‘power through’ and go for it anyway. However, eventually, it dawned on me I really had to call to ask if the surgery could be postponed, which I did, even though it was both annoying and disappointing.
The daughter then ordered a few RAT tests and I tested *positive* twice, which was sort of conclusive.
The doctor will ring later and probably prescribe some anti-viral medication, not before time because this is killing me. I spent most of last night awake and hacking an unproductive cough which is as painful as hell. I was so exhausted I finally fell asleep around 5 – 6, but only for an hour. My chest muscles really hurt and so does my throat. I think both are due to the incessant coughing.
Currently, I’m sitting typing this with a cup of Nestle’s Coffee Power (things in a packet), made with boiling water and with a teaspoon of Manuka honey and two of brown sugar. Not sure it will help but I have to try.
Anyway, not writing much because I feel like crap. By the way, the Clinic was very understanding and rescheduled the surgery for a month, at no additional cost! So the new date will be… 27th October… my birthday!! What a great birthday present that’s going to be!
