Ok, things are looking up at last. Went to see the surgeon and he gave me a provisional date for 29th Sept. The wife still isn’t on board with it and actually told me if I want it… I have to pay for it. Not the best thing to be told, especially when she’s earning so much more than me. Not hard when I only have my pension coming in. Never mind, I’m still going ahead with it.
So. Apparently, I managed to lose far more than I thought. When I got to the surgeon originally I weighed in at 164.5 kilos but today I weighed in at 151.0 so lost 13.5 kilos so far. Better than I thought. Anyway, I’m still on the diet, except now I have a real diet to go for. Three shakes a day and a ‘protein meal’ that is basically 100 grams of uncooked weight of meat, or fish, with a cup of salad or steamed veg. It’s roughly 700 calories a day so going to be bloody difficult!!
In addition, my doctor has finally put me on testosterone gel which should… might… be a real advantage in this journey. The benefits range far and wide from an increase in libido (nice but not essential) thru muscle tone, weight loss, memory improvement and more. I’m starting on a low dose and will monitor how I go before raising it to the level i *should* be at. As an aside, I doubled the dose of Ozempic, with difficulty (nothing is simple for me). The doctor told me to raise the dose to 1 mg but none of the pharmacies in the area so I had to get a new script for the lower dose… then double it (i.e. I took two .5 mg injections). So off on that as well.
Pretty much I’m thinking these changes will all push me further and faster along the path to where I want to be… thinner, healthier, and happier. I live in hope… much as usual. More on this later. I have a few papers to read and sort out the issues that might arise from them and that, I’ll post tomorrow.
