Had a shake for brekkie as usual, but had one of the strawberry flavour FastStart from the CSIRO. I’d like to say how nice it was after a week or so of UltraFast shakes. Unfortunately I mixed it into the same amount of water as the UltraFast shakes… and shouldn’t have. I think the CSIRO variety should be mixed into 250 ml, not 350 ml. so was very weak and not very nice. I’ll try it again tomorrow mixed properly.
Anyway, went out shopping for food etc but didn’t get back til 2:30 by which time I was *very* hungry. Unfortunately whilst I tried to control my appetite I think I overdid it a bit, not so much the food, but the total input. I’ll explain. I had the top and bottom of a tomato that my daughter had left from her breakfast, two Cruskits with some triple smoked ham, and a small tin of tuna with several celery stalks. So far so good you might think, pretty low in overall calories but high in protein and fibre.
But then I thought I’d increase the input of nutrients in my meal with a glass of V8 original Vegetable mix. I love this stuff, it’s very near to my favourite tomato juice (88% tomato juice) in texture and flavour, but with more of a kick. It says it has 3 serves of veg in a 250 ml glass… very useful. However, I finally checked the calorie count and each 250 ml contains 49 calories… and I had three glasses. In total 200 cals tuna, 100 cals Cruskit, 50 cals ham, and 150 cals V8 = around 600 – 700 calories. Much higher than the 500 I’m trying to keep myself to.
Tonight I was going to have some steak and roast veg, but I’ll have some white fish and salad instead which will bring the total calories for the day back to around 1000 – 1200 at most. I know this sounds low but I’m still hoping to get close to the 149 kilos I need to see the surgeon, even if I decide to defer the meeting until I’ve lost even more weight. This is more for vanity than any desperate need. 🙂
