The Munch Bunch

My daughters treated me to ‘dinner and a show’ last night. We went to see the Simon and Garfunkel Show, at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown (Sydney). They’re a ‘cover band’ who tell some of the story of the duo and singing some of their songs as they relate the history. I really enjoyed it, loads of fun.

We had dinner before the show and went to a little place called ‘Taste of Turkey‘, which is situated a few doors away from the theatre so was really convenient. The menu, mostly Turkish dishes, was quite extensive and, tho torn between several beautifully presented dishes, and my urge to keep to my diet, I eventually chose the Vegetarian Bowl (priced at AU$23), pictured below,

To be fair it was *really* tasty and filling. I was so starved, relatively, for ‘real’ food that it took little time at all to scarf it down. I really should have taken a far longer time eating to savour the flavour, but found it impossible. I’d really love to go there again so probably will before I go for the operation. After the operation, I’d be lucky to finish off the bean salad! 😀

The point of posting all this isn’t just to advertise the restaurant, which deserves recognition, but to highlight the effect of the meal… which was negligible. I’d spent the day eating my usual meals (as outlined elsewhere) but still managed to keep my weight steady! I’m not saying for a second that this would be an ideal way to lose weight but it *does* reassure me that I can indulge myself a little occasionally with a reasonably sized ‘treat meal’ and not find myself gorging on snacks during the next few days and undermining my resolve.

So, on with the motley, as they say in the UK. A new day dawns and there is housework to be done. I can also say “needs must when the devil drives” tho why I’d say either of those I don’t know when, basically, it’s just time to get on with life… !
