Hopefully, the current diet will be the last before the operation and the chance of finally losing weight. I’ve done a lot of research regarding the pre-op diet, and the post-op diet but this post is about the initial 10 kilos I have to lose before the main event.
I’ve mentioned before that I’ve been on many, many diets in the past and although I’ve never managed to make any work for me, I understand the principles of them all. The fundamental part of allose weight, “calories in”, must be less than “calories out”. This principle is repeated ad nauseum in every diet whatever form it takes. With respect to this effort, I’m going for as large a fat reduction as possible in as short a time as possible. To this end, I’ve chosen the “meal replacement” method. I’ve ordered lots of Optifast shakes and soups and using them to replace *two* meals per day, breakfast and lunch, with a Lite ‘n Easy meal for dinner. Optifast is considered to have the best blend of nutrients the body needs of all similar diet products. So, to put it all into context, I’m on my way. I’ll be dropping posts onto the blog in the coming weeks charting the weight loss and whatever issues are arising… for example, suddenly finding myself very aware of adverts on tv programs that advertise foods!!
From here on I’ll also be dropping in posts about the procedure itself, hints from people about preparation for the operation and how to manage post-op recovery etc. Basically, whatever comes to mind, and is related to the surgery in some way.
