In the confusion surrounding the old mans decision to arrange his flight at the same time as the wife’s graduation ceremony… I forgot the problems we’ll have in other areas.
To begin with, he has to be at the airport 2 hours before his flight leaves… so he needs to *be* there at 9:30 a.m. It’s an hour drive at the best of times… but at that time of the morning, in the middle of the rush hour, we’ll need to make sure we have an hour and a half minimum… so have to leave here at 8:30 a.m. to get him there on time.
All well and good… except that I have to take the wife to the university… so we’ll need to add on a half hour (minimum) to drive through the centre of the city in that rush hour traffic to get her near where she needs to be. That puts the leaving time back to 8:00 or earlier.
Also of course the kids need to go to school! It’s a 40 minute round trip from here to there and back… so we need to leave here… all of us… and all the baggage packed etc… no later than 7:00 a.m… preferably even earlier. It’s hard enough trying to get the kids ready for school for one of their early starts at 7:45… but this is going to be murder.
The old man said he chose this time to leave because it caused the least inconvenience to all… err… ?? Sorry… run that by me again?? 😀
