Beitish media mogul Michael Grade has made a bizarre move on the ailing relationship between the Beeb and the long running Aussie soapie “Neighbours”. Lord knows why but this tedious ongoing saga of dysfunctional families and social misfits is being sought by ITV with an offer price of $275,000 per episode!
The BBC who have been running this series since it arrived on UK TV reckon they are willing to raise their offer from $62,500 per episode to $175,000 but say anything more is tantamouint to extortion.
My opinion is that I’d be willing to pay to keep it off the air and if someone wants to pay that sort of money they can come and watch us for a while! Reality bites.
