The daughter is now officially eleven… and I feel ten years older.
Because she is in school today and the old man wasn’t intending to get up early for anything, he decided it would be a good idea to give her her pressie from him and the old lady last night. Being a meanie I suggested that instead of giving her the whole computing package… he give it to her in ‘bits’.
We started by giving her the webcam… and she was delighted. Then we gave her the speakers… then the 22″ monitor… then the cpu.
To say she was gobsmacked is an understatement… blown away is probably more accurate. She stood there with her mouth open not knowing what to say or who to say it to 🙂 Basically it all seemed to go down very well.
I spent last night and this morning getting it all ready to go but for some unknown reason, whilst the wireless keyboard worked… the wireless mouse would not! Maybe that’s a battery issue… will replace them later and check. Failing that maybe a reinstall of the software will solve it. Also the webcam isn’t showing a picture. This may well be a firewall issue so no biggie really.
Either way it’s now time to go get them from school. Me? I’ll drop the ‘bigger’ girls at home to let them get their party going while I take the little one off to her skating lesson for two hours. With luck they’ll be worn out by the time I get back 🙂
