Talking of vice versa, which I was in the previous post, have I mentioned the new word Australian kids have taken to heart? When they compete with one another… in any game… they ‘verse’ each other!
This I put down to crappy education since it obviously is derived from the word ‘versus’ without a complete appreciation of what the word means or where it came from.
English is a still developing language but there are times you have to wonder if those of us that ‘develop’ it have any sense of what we’re doing. 🙂
