So last night I managed to stave off the worst of the hunger pains with large quantities of veg soup. I had at least three large bowls along with a plate of broccoli and some roast chicken (the protein part of the diet).
Of course this meant several visits to the loo during the night π but otherwise I seem to be recovering slowly. I think what happened was that the ‘normal’ meals I had upset my body chemistry and encouraged the release of large quantities of insulin… which depleted my blood sugar levels dramatically leaving me me hypo and despereate for sugar… which has been a large part of the problem for so long.
I’m hoping drinking the soup etc will partially satiate the cravings but not encourage the release of the insulin. Might take a day or two to get back to normal… but right now I think it’ll all be ok. Still… it gave me a real scare for a while. I honestly thought I’d slipped over the line again.
Bit of a worry really… still… with all that soup carrying only 100 calories in total I ought to be ok… fingers crossed. Either way… I’ll be making a load more this morning just in case!! π
Oddly… yesterday I had to go lie down when I got back from taking the kids to school. I fell asleep at 9:00 a.m. and didn’t wake until nearly 1:00 p.m! No idea what’s going on there. Ah well… either I’ll be ok or I won’t.
