Morning has broken.

All this early morningwalking has given me a new appreciation of how much I like my bed. 🙂

The 5:30 start wouldn;t be quite so bad if I could wave goodbye to the wife and crawl back in for an hour or two… but having to go on a brisk 4 kilometere stagger immediately after the bus leaves really tests the mettle.

So far I’ve not missed a morning… well weekday mornings anyway. On weekends things are different, slightly different. Saturday morning the kids usually go skating at 9:00 a.m. so I can ‘lie-in’ until seven before having to turf them out of their kip to get ready.

Once there they go off for their lesson and ‘free skating time’ while the wife and I go for a walk around the lake that’s just outside the rink.

The lake is man made, as you’d expect in the middle of an business park, but is attractive nonetheless. It’s one anf a half kilometres circumference more or less and takes me about 10 minutes to walk quietly round. Three of those is usually enough but we need to rey to extend that a bit. The kids are effectively on the ice from 9.00 til 10.30 so (in theory at least) we could do nine circuits.

Will we ever do nine? Nope. We need some time to sort the kids out first, and to be there for their finish so maybe 6 – 7 is the best we could hope for unless we get there early and leave late. But this weekend I figure we’ll try just to see what we can do.
