Up and away early this morning to get the kids off to school on time for the first day back. I’ve finally realised that for me to get them there for 8:50 I have to start shouting “Let’s Go!!” at 8:00 and then jolly them along until we actually get in the car which could be anything up to 30 mins later. How we’ll manage when the ‘extra-curricular’ stuff kicks in I don’t know… start leaving at 7:00 maybe??
Apart from the pile of library books that had to go back (the ones both officially and unofficially ‘borrowed’ over the summer), the eldest had to carry her plaque back to the school for it to be placed in the trophy cabinet… wherever it is. She’s a bit sad it has to go back but was pleased to get it. I’ll be surprised if she gets the same award next year… she’ll have to drop a few of the ‘extra’ things she does because of the pressure of work, but it’s nice her name is on there at least once. Leaves a bare patch on the wall tho!
The youngest starts her guitar lessons this arvo… she’s been waiting patiently since her birthday last September to be able to start so I hope she picks it up quickly enough. She’s more determined to learn things than her sister sometimes but gets disheartened quickly if she’s criticised… but we’ll see how she goes.
Time flies by so fast!! Hard to believe that this time next year the eldest will be starting High School… seems like just months since she was in kindy. 😦
