Yesterday a little girl in France watched horrified as a helicopter dropped from the sky and killed her parents as they walked outside a restaurant in the Carmargue.
Now that tale in itself is horrible enough to raise the sympathies of anyone who reads it… so *why* did the journalists at news.com decide to go for ‘overkill’ and report that “At least two people were decapitated” and that the little girl cried out “My Daddy doesn’t have a head anymore…”?
I mean what possible purpose does it serve for us to know that? Surely the event in itself was dreadful enough without the extra detail?
Sometimes journalistic morals make me sick… but in this case editorial responsibility also seems to have taken a nosedive.
