Shane Warne, Glenn Mcgrath, Justin Langer and team coach Buchanan all retired today in the most fitting manner for a team of this quality. With a 5 match overwhelming whitewash of the English team they’ve sealed their place in cricketing history.
The level of the humiliation for the English showed in my fathers comment this morning when I started laughing at yet another collapse of the batting order. He was born English and takes pride in any and all English sporting achievements, however, when I shouted down to him that Pieterson had also gone down quickly under the Aussie onslaught… he responded “Don’t tell me… I’m Welsh!!”.
We look forward to the new team Aussie showing us what they can do. Of course they have continuity in the remainder of the team but there is also a wealth of talent out there in the wings.
Ok, it *is* the end of an era… but no worries mate… she’ll be right!! 🙂
