An hour or so ago he was hung… what a demonstration this is of the violence the invasion was supposed to stop. More later no doubt but so far the news is that it was just an excuse for more internecine violence.
I tend to judge a country’s adherence to civilised behaviour by the way it behaves towards it’s *worst* offenders. Saddam Hussein may or not have been the worst Iraqi… but the point is there is *never* an excuse for *any* state-sponsored murder.
The entire episode is… was… disgraceful… and should be seen to be so for a long time to come.
