Open Season – 3D

The wife went to an office party yesterday… the one in her new office where she’s yet to meet anyone! 🙂 While she was there we decided to visit the iMax cinema and take the kids to see a 3D version of the new cartoon ‘Open Season’.

As always… viewing *anything* on those massive screens is a special event in itself, but the 3D technology they use is *very* impressive!! Though the glasses are normally weighted… if oversize in shape… they actually *do* allow you to feel as if the action is ‘real’. Maybe noit quite so much with cartoons as with real creatures, places and things… such as underwater adventures… but still enough to be *extremely* visually impressive.

I think the storyline owed a lot to Shrek I… which itself owed a lot to almost everything that had gone before… but it still had some seriously funny moments in it… which I won’t pass on for fear of spoiling the film… that had the entire audience… adults as well… roaring with laughter.

This is another DVD I’ll be buying when it’s on sale next year.
