Very proud of the eldest today. Her shcool ‘Presentation Day’ was today and she received two awards. The first was for ‘Proficiency in Music’… the second was a special award for ‘Co-Curricular Activities’.
In part this was for her participation in Chor’us, Tae-kwon-do, Debating, Songmakers, Young Inventors, Stream Watch, Flute Ensemble, String Ensemble, Musicianship, Computer Club… in addition she’s a Library Monitor. All of these she does *in* school but outside of the standard full school curriculum.
Also of course she has lessons in school in flute and violin, and outside school goes to skating two or three times a week, and is a member of Girl Guides.
What amazes me is that she can do all this and still get *very* high marks in all subjects! She even gets ‘high credits’ and distinctions’ in the statewide tests!! And remember she is by far the youngest out of her class. In fact she *should* be in the class below, yet when she was in Year 4 her tutor (which she also had for a few years) was teaching her maths etc at Year 6 level!!
This kid is amazing… really takes after her father I reckon !!! 😀
