Tiger Airways – disabled unfriendly.

Tiger Airways are in hot water. Despite having written permission from the company to take their disabled daughter on a flight, she was refused permission to board! to read the level of humiliation the girl received, read the news story. The family has now lost around $15,000 in fares and accomodation costs and their holiday has been ruined.

The family did everything right yet were publicly humiliated.

  1. Hard to figure how there is any correct course here for Tiger other than to apologize and get these people on a plane — even if it’s not theirs — and get them on their trip ASAP.

  2. My opinion is that the company should not only arrange flights for them but in addition refund their money! No matter *what* they do this family will have their holiday ruined. Instead of happy memories of time spent in each others company, they have instead suffered discrimination at the hands of a faceless bureacracy.

    From here on memories of this trip… and possibly every other trip… will be coloured by the humiliation of this experience.

    They really need to go that extra mile and make a special effort on behalf of these people.
