It's a wonderful life.

The oldies are here… just. They arrived early Monday morning and of course we were there to meet them… just.

We arrived well before the flight landed and in time to sit quietly drinking coffee before they disembarked. So we sat… looked at the arrivals board… and realised we had *no* idea which flight they were on.

I *clearly* recall the old man telling me the flight arrived at 10:15 from Singapore. But there *was* no flight coming in from Singapore at that time.

Of course… it would have made perfect sense to have looked up the flight details before we left but that would have been far too easy. It was also far to easy to bring with us the telephone numbers of my brother and/or sister in the UK.

Luckily… I had my new PDA with me, and the PDA connects to the internet! At last a use for it 🙂 Anyway… whilst I couldn’t get MSN Messenger to turn on, I *was* able to get to Hotmail and found a mail from my sister so I quickly send a mail asking her to ring me… which she didn’t. After all there was no saying she was in front of the computer… or had seen the message arrive… or was logged in to Messenger, or was even at home etc. So I sent another one telling myself I’d send one every ten minutes until she *did* answer.

Luckily the second one did it and she called me… which I missed… so called her back.

Seems I not only had the wrong time, and wrong company… I even had the wrong stopover city (Shanghai instead of Singapore) so all in all it was a bit of a disaster.

Still… to cut it short they arrived exhausted but safe… luck was with them!
