Yet again a nursing mother has been subjected to humiliation simply for feeding her child the way nature intended. Admittedly this was in the USA… and we all know what double standards they have in matters of life and death.
This time a mother was feeding her baby in an airplane… in a window seat… with her husband in the aisle seat. Just before take-off… up pops a flight attendant with a blanket and asks her to cover up! She said she wasn’t ‘exposed’ and even if she was it makes no difference she was legally allowed to feed her baby wherever and whenever she wants. Off went the attendant… and a few minutes later on comes the ticketing person and she, her husband and baby are told to leave the plane! The next morning the leave for their destination on another plane with another airline… no problems.
This really is getting silly. Even if a woman stripped to the waist to feed a child what the hell difference would it make? How the hell can it be ‘offensive’?? If people have been so badly brought up that they feel uncomfortable around feeding kids then they need to realise the problem is with *them* not the woman doing what humans and billions of other animals have been doing for the whole history of mammalian existence!!
For reference… if you wish to send a letter of complaint… the Company was Delta Airlines, who were using planes supplied by Freedom Air (part of Mesa Group). Take a note of the names!!
