No word yet of whether the insurance will cover the PDA or not. On the assumption it *won’t* I went off to look at the iJam JasJam… which is the Telstra ‘NextG’ offering. This is the only one easily available (i.e. via rental) that is similar in spec to the one that I lost. It’s also the one that comes with 12 Foxtel channels… though lord knows *why*.
Currently I can’t see any purpose in having satellite tv available 24/7 on your mobile phone. I suppose if I was in finace and it carried market news it might be handy… or maybe I was a betting person and it carried the racing channels… otherwise??

Anyway – not saying we’ll have it… I just went to investigate the costs and see if it’d be worth it. An added incentive to buy one is that the wife will be changing jobs soon and has slowly realised how handy the things can be for organising your life and planning priorities.
The cost for the phone part.. is $80 a month. Access to the internet is an extra $29 and access to the tv is another $12 making it approx $120 a month all up which isn’t bad for what it is. Of course they won’t have any in until the end of Nove… which could mean not before Xmas… but for the wife there’s no rush… tho I need one *now*
Will have to discuss it with her and see if it’s worth the effort and expense. I think it’d be ideal for her… *if* the new company doesn’t supply Blackberry’s or uses MS exchange for their mail etc.
We’ll see.
