Every morning the kids are supposed to go through the same routine. They get up, waashed, dressed, shoes socks on etc, brush hair, have breakfast, clean teeth, put lunch in school bag… and then have a short time to watch tv or read before leaving. Really simple.
And yet despite having a fixed routine… every morning I end up haveing to shout at them to get ready. This morning the youngest was reading… when I told her to get her shoes on she yelled she couldn;t find them… the idea of *looking* obviously not crossing her mind. Then as we are getting ready to leave… she gets out a dish to have breakfast!
Ok I suppose you *could* say that I ought to be watching their every move to make sure they follow the routine… but the littles is seven and the eldest ten. I figure since the routine *is* so easy to regular follow they ought to be old enough no to follow it without the constant nagging.
Grrr……
