I really have to pull myself together and stop thinking of all this stuff π
But toad-in-the-hole… with mashed spuds and swede with butter… plated cabbage with cracked pepper… and gallons of thick onion gravy….. oooooohhh… orgasmic.
When I was young my mother used to make the loveliest Bakewell Tarts… almonds… raspberry jam… lordy but my mother could cook up a storm!! We used to have these Welsh cakes as well… I still make them now and then… might have mentioned that several times before of course… but they were so nice.

The picture isn’t one of mine… I found it on the web. I always follow my mothers style and halve the bangers then upend them so the halves are vertical… I think that way they actually *look* like toads… which after all is where the name came from. This laying them down stuff is a cop-out if you ask me… which you didn’t. π
So what’s on the menu for moi tonight?? I think I’ll try the powdered potato and leek soup with more ersatz coffee substitute… shudder… π¦
