This week is a bummer. Loads of stuff to do and no time to do it. Made a start on the docs yesterday with the clinic visit… I have another dropoff to do today… then today I spent a happy morning sitting in a waiting room at the service station while the car was fixed. I suppose it was 10,000 K overdue for a srvice so it was better done… but still… it was anotehr morning wasted.
Added to which… I discovered they hadn’t done *all* the work! There have been two factory recalls since we had the car… beither of which were actually done of course… and it seems they didn;t have thje parts in stock. They have to order them in and they’ll call when they arrive. I wonder if they have my phone numnber… they didn’t ask for it today that’s for sure!!
I didn’t go to to some ’round the corner guy’ who is moonlighting or working the black market… this is the main dealer for the area so you’d think they’d have parts… especially if there is a factory recall on them??
Still… the four hours I spent waiting wen’t entirely wasted. I re-read Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone… again, then read the morning paper, and then read through two computing magazines. I’d gone prepared!
It could have been a worse few hours. There was ‘real coffee’ on tap… even though I can’t drink it it was pleasant being able to savour the aroma. And there was sufficient comfort there too. The chairs were better than the ones we have at home… tho after four hours my neck was starting to hurt.
When I go back to get the other jobs completed I think I’ll take the prtable video player… not sure how long the battery lasts… but I’m sure I’ll find out.
