When I was at Resmed the machine I rented was the Autoset Spirit… I used one of these a few years back but it really didn;t help me at all then. This time… well it’s just one night so I can’t be sure *what’s* going on but it was set at 8 centimetres rather than my ‘usual’ 12 and it took a while to g4et used to it. However… I dropped off… and clearly woke up again so it must’ve worked.
The pressure this morning was only 8.9 centimetres so maybe 12 was too much. We’ll see when I take it back next week for them to check the readings. The software is supposed to provide me (them) with a read out relating to the way the machine has perfprmed in the night vis a vis increasing the pressure… hence the name ‘Autoset’… and how many apnoeas I had… if any. Since the pressure didn’t increase much maybe it wasn’t too bad… maybe.
Either way this machine… *with* humidifier… is much smaller on it’s own than my old pump… and the old humidifier is as big as the old pump so together they take up a chunk of real estate! Trouble is the new machine costs $1500 or so… not cheap. Maybe if I’m good Santa will bring one??
