Did I mention the blood tests? I’m sure I did… arm like a pin cushion etc? Well anyway… call from the Docs last week “I know I sent you for some tests already, but get a Glucose Tolerance test done before you come on Saturday”. So we drive 40 mins to pick up the referral and this morning I go to the clinic to book myself in.
Oh joy… I have to follow a ‘special diet’ for three days… which is a high carb diet so *right* off my current one… then go in with a urine sample, then give blood, then drink some goop, then wait *there* for two hours and then give more blood. Looks like there’s a wonderful day ahead?
Unfortunately they only do two per *day* and the earliest they can fit me in for the test is next Monday… which is two days *after* I see the Doc… which means in two weeks I have to take *another* 40 min drive to get the results from this test. Geez… I hate geting older!
I think he’s using the test as an indicator to see if I have T2 Diabetes… which is a bit of an old fashioned approach… or he could be testing for reactive hypoglycemia. Whichever it is… I don’t like it! 🙂
In the meantime I am booked into the local Resmed shop where I’ll be loaned a new CPAP machine and mask (at a cost) to test out how well it suits me. The current one works ok except that I’ve stopped feeling like I’ve had a good nights rest… and as that might well impact on my weight loss it needs investigating. This new machine will print out a months worth od Data that I can take with me to the Doc for analysis. Now that *will* be interesting to look at!!
So… will report back on this lot in a week… I wonder if it will be good news?? I wonder if *any* of it will be good news?
