AnArmidaly grandmother who was unable toget an appointment with a dentist for 6 weeks decided to pull her own tooth. She grabbed a pair ofpliers… drank a bottle of wine… and pulled. She said the pain was worse than the toothache but she went ahead anyway and once it was out the relief was worth the effort.
Shortly afterwards a local businessman gave her a lift to another dentist a four hour drive away where another tooth was removed.
Sort of begs the question… why she didn’t go there herself originally after waiting ages to get to the local one? Still it highlights the lack ofdecent medical care out in the bush.
Not sure what can be done about it… people just don’t want to live and work out there.
