Internet Explorer 7

Well it’s finally been released as a download. You can get the new version of Internet Explorer here but do you really want it?

I downloaded one of the beta versions a few weeks ago and didn’t like it. I found it bloated, slow and prone to crashing. It barfed at site after site apparantly at random… until I discovered I had to tweak settings in order to load almost any page.

I moved to Firefox some months ago and have since found that a high proportion of people who run their own websites also made the move. Firefox is so much better organised that for anyone with discernment there really is no competition for anyone trying to be productive.
Well there *was* no competition. I’m in the process of downloading this final release and will give it a fair going over to see if they’ve fixed up the beta blues.

Of course in a workplace environment changing to Firefox might be a no-no so I have to download both to be able to check the sites work on the browsers with the larger share.

I’ll report back… if the machine still works afterwards 😀
