Iraq war… all but forgotten

Strange how the ongoing war in Iraq is attracting fewer and fewer headlines. Now the day to day slog of trying to maintain order and just stay alive has become the norm the media are dropping the day to day horror from the headlines.

Who cares if two million Iraqis are dead, dying or maimed for life? These are ‘long term’ statistics and isn’t what the media want. Who cares if villiages are flattened and their residents slaughtered… it’s war and these things happen.

What’s the headline at news.com site? Why it’s our Nicole who’s gone to Kosovo to get herself a headline… sorry to get publicity for the plight of the residents. Seems the’s yet another ‘UN goodwill ambassador”… whatever the hell that is… and says she could be a voice for local people, “if you need it”. Yeah right.

I’m still waiting for someone to come out and explain properly just *how* the current situation is ‘better’ for the Iraq population than it was before the USA ‘liberated’ them.

While they’re at it, maybe they’d like to explain just how and why the world has a reduced threat from terrorism because Afghanistan and Iraq were invaded.
