This is the face of eight year old Sofia Rodriguez-Urrutia-Schu who was found raped and murdered in a Perth toilet earlier this year.
It must be heartbreaking for her older brother who had let her out of his sight only for her to go to the toilet and when she failed to reappear had tried the door of the Disabled toilet where she was later to be found but hadn’t realised what was happening to his little sister inside. He even saw the man escape without realising who it was or what he’d done.
Today, the man accused of her murder has appeared in court and is pleading not guilty. The information we received here in NSW seem to indicate this approach is likely to fail but we will watch with interest to see if the law has managed to catch the right person.
