Well Torvill watch out anyway. Why? Because my kids are taking up skating. Actually I doubt the older will be much use… much as I love her she is simply to ‘wooden’ and refuses to try new moves in case she gets hurt! The youngest by comparison is constantly practicing and trying out new stuff she sees others doing.
We’ll be off to buy them both decent skates but I’ll bet the only one who’ll keep it up will be the little ‘un… and she’s pretty good too bearing in mind how few lessons she’s had.
The rink is ok as rinks go… Torvill and Dean were there for a few months over the winter filming an ongoing series “Skating with the Stars” which was a pretty weak effort by all accounts. We didn’t watch it… all *we* did was complain because the rink was cut in half all the time they were using it wtih them having a closed off sound stage one end and the all the kids crammed in at the other.
Did they offer us a discount on the lessons because of the lack of space? Nope. Were we miffed? Yup. Did they care? Nope 😀
