Lucky us. Peter Costello, our Treasurer, has unveiled the final budget surplus which is one billion dollars *more* that he’d anticipated sucking out of us. Seems the surplus for 2005 – 06 is a total of AU$15.8 billion dollars.
So which bum is the Treasurer?
In the meantime hospitals are closing, schools are underfunded and the roads are crumbling under us. Whoopee… I’m so glad to have contributed to his record totals and so are the thousands living on subsistence wages… or minimal handouts from the government to stay alive.
It’s obscene.
