The light has been out in one of the upstairs toilets for the past week… and idle me has been trying to wait until the wife got fed up and did it for me. Sadly she didn;t take a single one of the innumerable hints I (and the kids) have dropped so I finally decided to just put a new bulb in.
Easy enough after all. So… I grabs me a bulb and a stepladder and of goes I.
I take off the glass globe thing, remove the bulb, plug in the new one… no worries. Then I screw the glass thingy over it… and drop a screw.
Well I screwed up the other ‘loose’ one until the glass thingy didn’t more, and hopped down of the ladder to pick up the dropped screw… when suddenly bang… I’m hit on the back of the head by something heavy which then falls to the floor with a crash.
Yup… it had fallen off and after braining me… smashed to a million pieces on the tile floor. Oh good.
Apart from the stupidity I displayed in not making 100% sure it *souldn’t* drop when I left it… I was amazed by the sheer amount of broken glass that was generated. I’m *sure( there was enough broken glass to make at least 3 of the damn things…
… took me ages to clear up.
Now I’ll have to blame the wife… after all it *was* her fault really… if she’d only done it for me all would still be fine… am I right or am I right?? ๐
