Yes I *am* aware we weren’t… but still I thought an update might be in order now I’m finally back on here properly.
Surrounding me at my workstation are the fruits of modern life… four computers each carrying out a different if small task.
The laptop is running some French ‘cash bar’ thing which may or may not give me 10 euros after I’ve run it for ten years. It’s also running a small ‘manual’ program that builds up advertising credits… it also carries the mail address which collects the emails I get paid for reading… other than that… nothing currently. Seems like a waste somehow.
The desktop also has the French thing going… but as a referral to the laptop (they’re on different ISP’s) so I can build up credits faster. I’m currently typing on this one so it’s being used ‘properly’ I suppose.
Then I have a machine dedicated to accessing ‘autosurf sites’ which are again mostly used for building up advertising credits… it’s an old 166MHz model so is a bit slow for the work it’s been given, but it has its place and it helps where it can.
The last one is also dedicated to one purpose… handling online finance. Not sure if I mentioned it before but I think I was a bit lax with my security and my online account got hacked after I unknowingly downloaded a Trojan designed to access the passwords of that sort of account. I lost the lot and have to start over again… which is a bit of a pain.
The only ‘upside’ is that it taught me to be meg-careful and the machine if filled with Trojan sniffers and anti-virus programs which are all run immediately before *and* after I make a transaction 🙂
Other than that things are moving along ok. Not making much yet, but it’s a slow progress building capital from next to nothing… it’s getting there slowly… *very* slowly… $10 here… $10 there… in a month or two I’ll be able to spread my wings a bit and start to do more profitable projects… but right now… gawd the *time* it takes?? Makes you wonder if it’s really worthwhile…. except of course I know it *is*! 🙂
